FactMap is operated by Tucana Digital SLU, established in Spain. You can reach us at remi@tucana.digital.
The service
FactMap is provided free of charge for personal, non-commercial entertainment. We add new puzzles regularly and may change, add, pause, or remove features at any time. We do not guarantee the site will always be available or error-free.
Using the site fairly
When you use FactMap, you agree not to:
- use it for anything unlawful, or in a way that harms others;
- disrupt or overload the service, or try to gain unauthorised access to it;
- scrape, copy, or systematically extract its content or data except as normal personal play allows;
- resell, redistribute, or present the game or its content as your own.
Content and intellectual property
The game, its name and branding, its design and code, and the questions and explanations we write are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. You may play and share your results, but you may not otherwise copy or reuse our content without permission.
The map is built from open data, which we gratefully acknowledge: base map from Natural Earth (public domain) and relief from Terrarium elevation tiles (AWS Open Data). Those data sets remain under their own licences.
Fact suggestions
If you send us a fact, correction, or other suggestion, you confirm you are free to share it, and you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, adapt, and include it in the game. We are not obliged to use any suggestion, and we do not have to keep it confidential.
Supporting us
You can support FactMap through Patreon. Any payment or membership there is handled by Patreon and governed by Patreon's own terms and privacy policy, not these terms.
Links to other sites
The game links out to external sources and to Patreon. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices. Visiting them is at your own discretion.
No warranty
FactMap is provided "as is" and "as available". The facts are meant for entertainment and general interest and may contain errors or simplifications. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we make no warranties of any kind about the site or its content.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site, or for the site being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your rights as a consumer.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date above. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Any dispute will be subject to the competent courts of Spain, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
