FactMap

About

FactMap is a daily game where a fact meets a map. Read the fact, drop a pin where you think the answer is, and find out how close you got.

Why we made it

We wanted a game that mixes general knowledge with a sense of geography, and we couldn’t find one. Most map games ask you to place a country or a street view. Here, the thing you place is an idea: where a band formed, where a treaty was signed, where an animal lives.

We already spend a lot of our free time reading about random subjects. Putting those facts on a map turned out to be a fun way to test what we actually know, and most rounds send us off reading more, which is half the fun.

Who’s behind it

We’re a two-person team with a background in web and design, so a small daily game was something we could build ourselves and keep improving. We make FactMap because we wanted to play it.

If you spot a mistake, or you have a fact you’d love to see in the game, let us know.

Privacy

FactMap needs no account. Your scores and streak live in your own browser. To understand how the game is doing, we keep anonymous, aggregate stats, including the country a game was played from (the 2-letter country only, such as FR or US). We never store your IP address or anything that identifies you. For the full detail, see our Privacy Policy.
