How to play

Five questions a day, one world map, and your best guess. Here’s how a round works.

The daily

Every day there are five rounds. Everyone plays the same five, and a new set arrives each day. It resets at midnight, Paris time.

Each round

  1. Read the fact. A place is hiding in it.
  2. Tap the map to drop your pin where you think the answer is. Drag to fine-tune, then confirm when you’re happy.
  3. See the true location, how far off you were, and a short explanation, plus a few “rabbit hole” links if you want to dig deeper.

Scoring

Each round is worth up to 1,000 points, so 5,000 in a day. The closer your pin, the higher the score, measured as the crow flies. There’s a bullseye around the answer where you get full marks, and the score drops off smoothly as you get farther away, so a guess in the right region still counts for a lot.

Some answers are deliberately forgiving. A shipwreck lost in the open ocean is almost impossible to pin exactly, so it’s scored more gently than a city.

Hints

Stuck? Tap HINT to reveal a clue, one per round. It never adds points. Instead it lowers that round’s ceiling from 1,000 to 750. Take it only when you’d rather lock in a safe guess than gamble on precision.

At the end

You get your total out of 5,000 and a spoiler-free result you can share. Then open Explore the map to see all five answers next to your guesses. Tap any marker to read the fact again.
